In Seoul, just two years ago, there were hair regulations in middle schools. Students had to follow haircut rules of their school. Schools pressed us to have short hairstyles as they thought it is the best style for us while studying. I disagree with them. Schools should give students freedom to choose their own hairstyles.
Anyway, let's get into the topic.
For one thing, short hair has very little relation with studying. People argue that students are playing with their hair in class but actually that's not correct. Students who are playing with their hair will play with other things if they are forced to cut their hair!! The fundamental problem is their mind but teachers think that the problem is their hairstyle. Actually, there are numerous top students who has long hair and care for their hair. Caring their outlooks can be harmful when it becomes excessive, but in other cases it is a responsibility of us, not hindering our studies.
However, opposing sides argue that short hair helps with concentration and is convenient while studying. They say that long hair easily distracts one's concentration because they constantly slip down one's shoulder while studying.(And I'd oppose to that ,too. We can pull our hair up!!)
Second, some hairstyles prevents individuality!
Everybody is having a shortcut, same length, same color, even same uniforms.
No difference! Schools will look like a 'student factory' or 'robot display stand'. Schools should be fun. Studying is really important but we don't want boring and tedious schools. We should have some individuality in school.

However, the opponents say "Individuality and fashion or outlooks are not that important in school lives." However, this is not true because a student who cares for oneself can care for their studies well, too.
In conclusion, I believe that hair regulation ban is a really good idea for us.
We need change! We need freedom! We need Individuality!
That's the way we, the majority of the school, want to go on and reform our own schools...
